The hotel is well situated just 100m from the central station. The train from the airport to the central station is just 12 minutes, so really easy to reach - we used the train to return to the airport. Through Booking.com a taxi was arranged for our arrival. The driver sent me a WhatsApp with his details / photo of the taxi, so really easy to find him. The staff at the hotel are very friendly and helpful. The breakfasts are fantastic and freshly cooked, with some great homemade drinks, such as the ginger lemonade. The walk to the main tourist area is just over 5 minutes, with most of the main attractions no more than a 25 minute walk from the hotel. The old "meat packing zone" is a 10 minute walk from the hotel. This has been converted into bars and very good restaurants. Allow a generous budget to eat here but worth it.

On balance, I think that the "Very Good" (8.5) rating is about right. As others have noted, it is in a very convenient location (e.g., very close to the Central Train Station and within walking distance of many attractions), albeit not the most attractive area in Copenhagen; the staff was very friendly and efficient; the Superior King room was clean (but extremely small- apparently consistent with other hotel rooms in Copenhagen from what I have read- and lacking a bureau or proper closet). Overall, I would definitely consider staying there again if in Copenhagen on a short term basis.

A beautiful hotel. Stylish, clean, a superb comfy bed and you could just about throw a party in the generously proportioned shower space! Loved the central location and the views.

I had a fantastic stay at Gran Joanne—a beautifully designed hotel in a great location for exploring Copenhagen. The room was very comfortable, with stylish decor. Beyond the aesthetics, what truly set this stay apart was the outstanding service. Unfortunately, I fell ill during the trip, but the staff went above and beyond, delivering electrolytes and food in the early hours of the morning to help me recover. Their kindness and attentiveness made all the difference, and I’m incredibly grateful. The hotel also boasts great amenities—the gym was well-equipped, and the bar had a fantastic atmosphere with excellent drinks. Whether you’re looking for comfort, style, or top-tier service, Gran Joanne delivers on all fronts. Highly recommend, and would definitely stay again!

the room was spacious, comfortable and nice. the breakfast was delicious as well (specifically the a la carte items were delicious). the location was great, it's right next to the train station and you can basically walk everywhere as well. i haven't had the chance to use the gym but knowing that it is open 24/7 was good.

This is a new hotel with a very friendly vibe, the ambience throughout is very chilled. There is a really nice bar area which is important if you are travelling alone. When I stayed the weather was good and the addition of the rooftop bar really was fantastic. The location is excellent especially if you are looking for a quick and easy walk from the main train station.

Room and bed were comfortable. Nice natural light but also room-darkening curtains. Water pressure in bathroom was excellent (although it was necessary to read written instructions in the room to figure out how to get hot water in the sink!). Location is a short walk from the train station, Metro, a good small bakery, multiple bars and several ethnic restaurants. The neighborhood is a little grittier than swanky, touristy parts of town like Nyhavn but felt safe and convenient to everything.

The Grand Joanne location is just right, very close to the train station. The hotel is well renovated, the staff friendly and attentive. The room and beds are super comfortable and lastly the roof top bar was great for a late night drink and watch the sunset well after 10pm.

I really liked my stay here at Joanne. The staff were very friendly and helpful whenever I needed something. My room was cleaned everyday and the products given were lovely too. There body wash smelt so lovely! They also provide, shampoo, conditioner, hand soap, hand lotion, tooth brush and tooth paste, hair dryer and steamer. Very thought through, although you are paying the price for it. The interior is very beautifully designed and the hotel itself is a very central location. Less than 5 mins walk to the metro station, walking distance of tivoli gardens and strøget high street with the shops. Very convenient for me as a solo traveller, I felt very safe!
