Staff were so friendly, happy to help with anything. All furniture and decor was beautiful! A lot of seating area on the ground floor. We saw the reviews about rooms being small so we booked a superior king room, when arriving at our room I thought they’d given us the wrong room as it was still so small. I feel the photos need to be more realistic on the size. We ended up having to use the window sills to store our bags to make more room for the 3 nights we were there! The room was nice, bed was comfy, the makeup desk and light mirror was handy too. Bathroom was lovely, although I found it strange that the adjustable shower head only had a holder at waist level, so you had to hold that over yourself or use the ceiling rainfall shower which is difficult when not washing your hair. First night we stayed was a Saturday night and it was quite noisy, but after staying the Sunday and Monday night too it was clear it was just because Saturday was a busier night with people out partying. We didn’t opt for included breakfast but we had pancakes on our last morning, they were lovely but pricey compared to other breakfast places we’d been too. The roof terrace wasn’t open as they don’t open until nearer summer, it was a lovely sunny day when we arrived so would have been nice to sit up there. Overall lovely trip, would recommend but with warning rooms are small so don’t trust the pictures.

Grand Joanne Hotel is highly recommended! The location is perfect—right next to Tivoli Gardens and just a few minutes’ walk from the city center. Every corner of the hotel showcases unique and stylish decor, and a nice touch is how they call the lobby the “Living Room”, adding a cozy, welcoming vibe. The overall atmosphere is modern and distinctive. Check-in was quick and smooth, and although there are no phones in the rooms, you can contact the staff easily via WhatsApp—they respond quickly and are very helpful. The room was well-prepared and comfortable. Just note that there’s an extra fee for a robe and slippers, if needed. There are also great seating areas, including a rooftop on the 6th floor, open from 2 PM to 10 PM—perfect for enjoying coffee with a beautiful city view. The hotel features an Italian restaurant that’s usually busy but still easy to get a reservation. Unfortunately, I didn’t get the chance to try it. Overall, this hotel is a fantastic choice and I would definitely stay here again!

The hotel is well situated just 100m from the central station. The train from the airport to the central station is just 12 minutes, so really easy to reach - we used the train to return to the airport. Through Booking.com a taxi was arranged for our arrival. The driver sent me a WhatsApp with his details / photo of the taxi, so really easy to find him. The staff at the hotel are very friendly and helpful. The breakfasts are fantastic and freshly cooked, with some great homemade drinks, such as the ginger lemonade. The walk to the main tourist area is just over 5 minutes, with most of the main attractions no more than a 25 minute walk from the hotel. The old "meat packing zone" is a 10 minute walk from the hotel. This has been converted into bars and very good restaurants. Allow a generous budget to eat here but worth it.

On balance, I think that the "Very Good" (8.5) rating is about right. As others have noted, it is in a very convenient location (e.g., very close to the Central Train Station and within walking distance of many attractions), albeit not the most attractive area in Copenhagen; the staff was very friendly and efficient; the Superior King room was clean (but extremely small- apparently consistent with other hotel rooms in Copenhagen from what I have read- and lacking a bureau or proper closet). Overall, I would definitely consider staying there again if in Copenhagen on a short term basis.

The location is excellent. It’s right next to the train station and Tivoli but it’s also easy to get to any other attraction through the public transport. The bed was comfortable and the room was nicely decorated. It was very easy to contact staff if we needed fresh towels or anything else. The rooftop bar is very nice with great views and a nice selection of drinks. The bar is only open until 10pm ish so there is no issue with the music keeping people up at night.
